A journeytour of Pontos, places loaded with memories and history, where the presence of the Greeks dates back to antiquity. After exploring the Aegean Sea, the Greek navigators began to conquer the inhospitable and dangerous sea of “Xenos” Pontos. And finally managed to tame the closed water basin of Pontos, which became a welcoming, “Black” and Greek sea. There was created the Pontic Hellenism of 26 centuries of life to end up in the tragic uprooting and return to the ancient homeland. The journey continues with the most isolated part of Turkey, Anatolia, in areas where their history touches the Biblical era and in others still to this day at the peak of the day.

The trip in a few lines
A trek in Pontus and Anatolia. Starting from Ankara, we head to the picturesque Safranbolu with its traditional houses, the black-sea cities of Sinop and Samsun, the capital of Mithridates Amasya, Sivas with the Seljuk monuments, the “King of the Black Sea Cities”, Trabzon and the Monastery of Panagia Soumela, the holiest pilgrimage of the Pontic land. At the foot of Ararat, the town of Van with the lake of the same name, the “unofficial capital” of Turkish Kurdistan, Diyarbakir, Mount Nemrod with the huge statues of the ancient Kommayan, Göbekli Tepe, one of the oldest prehistoric temples in the world and a Unesco World Heritage site, Harran, one of the oldest cities on Earth, the “Muslim Venice”, Sanli Urfa, the “Divine Urfa” and Adana.
